Lyell Hogg, DDSOriginating from Scotland, Dr. Lyell Hogg was motivated to pursue a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery by his local dentist. He derives immense satisfaction from restoring his patients’ oral health and achieving favorable outcomes through compassionate, trustworthy, and deserving care. To maintain his commitment to providing exceptional patient care, Dr. Hogg actively participates in educational seminars and courses that encompass the latest advancements and techniques within the industry. As a board-certified oral surgeon, Dr. Hogg practices the comprehensive scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, specializing in dental implants, dental rehabilitation, and jaw reconstruction for dental implant placement. Dr. Hogg is actively involved in the Delta Dental Donated Dental Services Program, which extends oral surgical care to the elderly, disabled, and underserved members of the community. Additionally, he serves as a director of the Iowa Academy of Comprehensive Dentistry, a branch of the nationwide Seattle Study Club. The Seattle Study Club operates as a “University Without Walls,” offering unparalleled continuing education for dentists and dental specialists. This continuous enhancement of educational standards significantly contributes to the quality of dental care provided to patients within local communities.  EducationDr. Hogg graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1995. He further advanced his education by completing his residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, graduating in 1999. Dr. Hogg obtained board certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2001 and was subsequently recertified in 2011. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Interests and HobbiesDr. Hogg & his wife Rachael, love all things aquatic, such as boating, sailing and scuba diving. Dr. Hogg is an avid and active scuba diver. He holds many scuba certifications and is an active PADI IDC Staff Instructor working at Sweet Bottom Dive Center on the island of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. He can not only teach you how to dive, but also works in educating Divemasters and other Scuba Diving Instructors.
